How much does a dental crown cost?

A dental crown costs from $6,500 Mexican pesos (MXN) at DentCare in Ciudad Camargo, Chihuahua. Not every tooth needs a crown: if enough structure is left, a filling from $650 MXN or an inlay may be enough. At the assessment we check how much tooth remains and decide together, with the cost of each option.

From $6,500 MXN

All prices are in Mexican pesos (MXN), not US dollars, and are reference prices: the exact cost for your case is given to you in writing at the assessment, before any treatment starts.

What sets the price

The crown material

The material decides how closely it matches a natural tooth and how well it stands up to your bite; the price changes with the one you choose.

Whether the tooth needs a root canal first

A tooth with a damaged nerve needs a root canal (from $2,800 MXN) before the crown. That is two treatments and two costs.

Whether a post is needed

When little structure is left, a post is placed to support the crown; it is quoted separately.

How many crowns

Several crowns together are planned as one treatment, with a staged payment schedule.

What is included

  • Assessment with an X-ray and the options with their cost
  • Preparing the tooth and taking an impression or scan
  • A temporary crown while the final one is made
  • Fitting, bite adjustment and cementing
  • A follow-up review

Filling, inlay or crown

The rule is simple: the more healthy tooth is left, the less you need. Small damage takes a same-day filling; moderate damage an inlay or onlay; and once the tooth is badly weakened or fractured, a crown is what keeps you from losing it. Letting it progress usually moves the case from the cheap option to the expensive one.

Treatment is done by C.D. Jessica Vázquez, endodontics specialist, professional license 10837412. She speaks Spanish and English.

Frequently asked questions

How many visits does a crown take?

Usually two: the first prepares the tooth and takes the impression or scan, the second fits and cements the final crown. You wear a temporary one in between.

How long does a crown last?

Many years with good hygiene and regular cleanings. What usually fails is not the crown but the tooth underneath, if decay gets in at the edge.

Will people see it is a crown?

The shade is matched to your neighbouring teeth. For front teeth we prioritise appearance; for molars, strength.

I am travelling in — can it be done in one trip?

A crown needs two visits because it is made in a laboratory. If you are coming from far away we coordinate the dates on WhatsApp so both trips work for you.
